The Courage to Be Still

"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10

In a world that rewards busyness, stillness can feel like failure. We fill our calendars, our minds, and our moments — sometimes to avoid the very quiet where God is waiting to meet us.

But stillness is not passive. It is an act of profound trust. To be still is to say, "I believe You are in control. I believe You are enough. I do not have to fix this, force this, or figure this out on my own."

God does not shout over the noise of your striving. He whispers in the quiet. Today, give yourself permission to stop — and in the stopping, find Him.

Prayer: God, I confess that I often run from stillness. Teach me to be quiet before You. In the silence, speak — and give me the courage to listen. Amen.
