Hope That Does Not Disappoint
"And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." — Romans 5:5
Hope can feel like a dangerous thing. When you have hoped before and been disappointed, it is tempting to protect yourself by expecting less — to keep your heart guarded, your expectations low, your dreams small.
But the hope that God offers is not like the hope the world gives. The world's hope is wishful thinking — fragile, uncertain, dependent on circumstances. God's hope is an anchor. It is grounded not in what might happen, but in who He is.
He is faithful. He is good. He does not change. And His love — poured out into your heart by the Holy Spirit — is the foundation on which every true hope rests.
You can hope again. Not naively, but boldly — because the One in whom you hope has never once failed. He will not start now.
Let hope rise in you today.
Prayer: Lord, I choose hope. Not because my circumstances are perfect, but because You are. Pour Your love into every place where disappointment has taken root, and let hope bloom again in my heart. Amen.
